FM On Tour - Phuket 2019

Forward Motion launched FM On Tour this October with it’s very first overseas trip to Phuket for a week of tennis, health and wellness at the world renowned Thanyapura Resort in Phuket Thailand.

Forward Motion coaches teamed up with coached at Thanyapura to create a taylor made 6 day program for our 12 guests from Hong Kong that included several hours or tennis as well as health and wellness classes such as yoga, running, swimming, pilates, biking, muay thai and more!

No words could possibly express just how incredible this week in Phuket has been for us, and how grateful we are for the time we have spent with our new tennis family, both on and off the tennis court.

We also couldn’t be more proud of everyone for taking their tennis to the next level. It has been awesome to watch!

Here is to the very first edition of "Forward Motion On Tour" and we look forward to many more.

Thank you all for a truly beautiful week and I hope it was as memorable for you as it was for us.

DBRC Charity Cup 2018

The DBRC Charity Cup 2018 was a huge success in many ways. With more than 200 players taking part in the one day tournament on the 6th October 2018, it was certainly a highlight of the DB calendar. The community came together to raise more than $850,000 through various fundraising initiatives - a truly remarkable achievement! The event continued its support for Watchdog Early Education Centre and Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association with the funds split equally between both beneficiaries.

Aside from the excitement of the tennis matches, fun costumes and camaraderie, the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the presentations given by both charities which included a dance performance from the kids of the Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association.

All the Forward Motion coaches also took part in the event teaming up with friends and students for a fun-filled day of tennis.

FM Chinese New Year Sports Camp 2018

To say this was just another Sports Camp would be a HUGE understatement.

Originally only suppose to be a 1 week camp over the CNY holidays, we extended the program with an additional week because of the sudden school closures due to the flu! The announcement was made on Thursday the week before and with parents requesting a Sports Camp in light of the school closure, the program was confirmed by Thursday evening. For the first time in the history of our camp we had to close the application due to the huge interest.

Not only was this camp different because of the sudden school closure, but it was also memorable for the new activities we were able to introduce this holiday. With our new archery set, all the Campers got to learn about archery and have a go with the bow and arrows, many for the first time! We also introduced Yoga into the program which made for a great way to start the morning.

As with every Sports Camp, it was great to see many familiar faces and welcome new ones to the Happy Camper family.

We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

It was also great to see new talent in the community and several juniors participating in this years event. With more than 230 players in total, it made for a great few weeks of tennis.

Halloween Appreciation Party 2017

On Saturday October 28th, we invited all our families at the Discovery Bay Marina Club to join us at our Halloween Appreciation Party - our way of saying 'thank you'. Over the years, our students at DBMC have become somewhat of a family to us with many of them attending our various programs including Tennis Lessons, Sports Camps, Helper's Tennis and Yoga Classes. We were moved to see more than 100 people come out and it was really nice to spend the afternoon with our favourite Superheroes, Witches, Pokemon, Ghosts and get to know some of the parents also!

Thank you to DBMC and EVOQUE PORTRAITS for their support in the event.

Congratulations to the Mad Scientist for taking home the Best Costume Award!

FM Half Term Sports Camp 2017

It was another fun week of Sports Camp this Half Term in October. It was great to see so many familiar faces and also welcome some news ones to the family!

We were happy to be able to introduce new activities to our camp this season including Bubble Soccer and Gladiator Duel. We were also super excited about our new Happy Camper t-shirts!

It was a hot week but that didn't stop our Campers from pushing themselves and having a ton of fun. The water balloons and water games certainly helped also! It was great to see Campers making new friends, over come challenges and learn new skills.

Until next time!

Harvey Dickson in Cambodia

Awesome stuff from Harvey who asked for our used tennis balls so that he could take them to Cambodia to give to local children in the villages he visited this Easter.

Thanks for letting us be a part of your work Harv!

FM Easter Sports Camp 2017

The last 2 weeks have seen us complete another successful sports camp over the Easter break with many new faces as well as several familiar ones returning. With almost 40 kids over the 8 day program, there was a good range of age groups and mix of boys and girls which made for a great atmosphere!

Over the course of each week, Campers got to try their hands at tennis, basketball, football and baseball as our main sports. Other games and activities such as helicopter, skipping and bulldog were also very popular.

This was Coach Christine and Coach Jaume's first sports camp since joining Forward Motion earlier this year bringing with them many new games and ideas which the kids thoroughly enjoyed!

We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next Holiday Sports Camp this summer!
